NBS: Local Chinese rebar prices up 1.8 percent in late July

In late July (July 21-31) this year, the average price in China of 16-25 mm HRB 400 rebar increased by RMB 67.6/mt ($9.5/mt) or 1.8 percent to RMB 3,752.4/mt ($525.5/mt), compared to prices in mid-July (July 11-20), as announced by China’s National Bureau of Statistics on August 4. In the given period, the average prices of wire rod, hot rolled coil (HRC), medium plate, seamless steel pipes and angles rose by 1.7 percent, 1.4 percent, 3.5 percent, 0.5 percent and 2.1 percent, respectively, all compared to mid-July.
