In the January-March period of the current year, China produced 175.0 million mt of pig iron, down 1.2 percent year on year, while also producing 212.15 million mt of crude steel and 246.93 million mt of finished steel, rising by 5.4 percent and 4.7 percent year on year, respectively, as announced by China's National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) on April 17.
In March alone, China produced 60.46 million mt of pig iron, down 1.1 percent year on year, while also producing 73.98 million mt of crude steel and 89.77 million mt of finished steel, up 4.5 percent and 4.2 percent year on year, respectively.
