Nanjing Steel completes commissioning of continuous casting project

Jiangsu Province-based Chinese steelmaker Nanjing Iron and Steel Group Co. (Nanjing Steel) has completed the commissioning of its continuous casting project with the commissioning of its continuous casting line No. 3 on January 12, as reported by Beijing-based state-owned China Metallurgical Group Co. (MCC) on January 14. The project consists of three casting lines. The continuous casting line No. 1 was commissioned on December 28 last year, while commissioning of the continuous casting line No. 2 took place on January 4 of the current year. Construction work on the project was carried out by MCC subsidiary China 19th Metallurgical Co.
 
The project in question, which is located on a site covering 3.8 hectares, has a designed annual output capacity of 3.5 million mt of steel billet.
