Nanjiang Steel Baicheng puts coke oven No. 2 into operation

On February 26, Shanghai-based Chinese steel gaint Baosteel Group announced that Xinjiang-based steel producer Nanjiang Steel Baicheng Co. put its coke oven No. 2 into operation on February 24. Nanjiang Steel Baicheng is wholly owned by Xinjiang-based Bayi Iron and Steel, which is a subsidiary of Baosteel.

The coke oven No. 2 is a 5.5 meter tamping coke oven with an annual output capacity of 600,000 mt. It is expected to boost coke production at Nanjiang Steel Baicheng and to help reduce the company's costs.
