Moldavian Metallurgical Plant issues April operational results

Moldavian Metallurgical Plant (MMZ) has announced that in April this year it increased its steel billet output by 3.7 percent month on month to 48,307 mt, and raised its rolled steel product output by ten percent month on month to 47,165 mt.

MMZ's shipments in April this year increased by 11.5 percent month on month, amounting to 51,509 mt, including 36,994 mt to non-CIS countries (69 percent of total shipments) and 14,515 mt to CIS countries (31 percent of total shipments). The producer's deliveries of special grade steel products amounted to 10,692 mt during the month in question.

Meanwhile, during the first four months of the current year, MMZ produced 132,442 mt of steel billets and 125,032 mt of rolled steel products. Meanwhile, the company's deliveries amounted to 134,306 mt of finished products, including 49,269 mt to CIS markets and 79,902 mt to non-CIS markets, representing 38 percent and 62 percent respectively of its total shipments. Special grade steel shipments accounted for 31,538 mt of total shipments in January-April 2010.
