MMX announces certified reserves of 1 billion mt of iron ore in Serra Azul

Brazil-based miner MMX has announced that it has certified reserves of 997.4 million mt of iron ore in Serra Azul project in the state of Minas Gerais in southeastern Brazil.
 
The independent certification company SRK Consulting revealed that the company has proven reserves of 632 million mt and probable reserves of 365 million mt.
 
According to the MMX statement, the reserve certification will contribute to the expansion project. With certified reserves, along with the long-term supply contracts and the port in construction, MMX is strengthening its position "as an integrated supplier in the seaborne iron ore market".
