MMK reports production results for January-July 2006
In the first seven months of 2006, Russian steelmaker Magnitogorsk Iron and Steel Works (MMK) rose the production of agglomerate by 9.5 percent to 6.382 million metric tons, production of coke by 2.5 percent to 3.253 million metric tons, production of pig iron by 6.4 percent to 5.757 million metric tons, production crude steel by 8.9 percent to 6.993 million metric tons and production of finished steel products by 10.9 percent to 6.46 million metric tons compared to the production results of a year earlier. However, the enterprise's production of iron ore decreased 8.1 percent to 797,700 metric tons during period in question. In July of 2006, MMK produced 125,100 metric tons of iron ore, 930,000 metric tons of agglomerate, 473,000 metric tons of coke, 836,500 metric tons of pig iron, 1.07 million metric tons of crude steel and 980,800 metric tons of finished steel products.
