MMK releases production results
In August of 2006, Russian Magnitogorsk Iron and Steel Works (MMK) produced 130,600 metric tons of iron ore, 955,300 metric tons of agglomerate, 481,100 metric tons of coke, 851,100 metric tons of pig iron, 1.1 million metric tons of crude steel and 1 million metric tons of finished steel products. 48 percent of all MMK's dispatches in August went for exports. In the first eight months of 2006, MMK decreased the production of iron ore by 8.6 percent, increased the production of agglomerate by 10.3 percent, increased the production of coke by 2.4 percent, increased the production of pig iron by 5.7 percent, increased the production of crude steel by 9.3 percent and increased the production of finished steel products by 11.4 percent year on year to 928,300 metric tons, to 7.3 million metric tons, to 3.7 million metric tons, to 6.6 million metric tons, to 8.1 million metric tons, and to 7.5 million metric tons respectively. The share of export in January-August dispatches of MMK was 47 percent.
