The Russian steelmaker Magnitogorsk Iron and Steel Works (MMK) has released its production results for the first seven months of 2007.
Accordingly, during the given period the mill recorded a 9.4 percent increase in its crude steel production to 7.65 million metric tons, an 8.7 percent rise in its finished steel production to 7.399 million metric tons, and an 11 percent increase in its iron ore production to 885,400 metric tons.
However, MMK saw a 9.5 percent decrease in its agglomerate production, a 4.3 percent decrease in pig iron production and a 4.8 percent decrease in its coke output. The respective figures in metric tons were 5.78 million, 5.51 million and 3.09 million.
In the first seven months of 2007, MMK saw a reduction in the export share in its overall sales to 37 percent compared to 47.7 percent registered in January-July 2006.
