Accordingly, during the given period the mill recorded an 8.6 percent increase in its crude steel production to 8.79 million metric tons, an 8.1 percent rise in its finished steel production to 8.503 million metric tons, and an 8.3 percent increase in its iron ore production to 1.006 million metric tons.
However, MMK saw an 8.7 percent decrease in its agglomerate production, a 3.6 percent decrease in pig iron production and a 4.1 percent decrease in its coke output. The respective figures in metric tons were 6.7 million, 6.37 million and 3.58 million.
In the first eight months of 2007, MMK saw a reduction in the share of exports in its overall sales to 37.8 percent, compared to 47 percent registered in January-August 2006.
