Australian nickel miner Mincor Resources announced on April 18 its production results for the first quarter of this year. Accordingly, the company's Kambalda operations near Kalgoorlie in Western Australia produced 2,683 mt of nickel-in-ore in the first quarter this year, rising 29 percent compared to the previous three-month period.

Mincor also highlighted its strong operating surplus in the period in question, increasing 108 percent over previous quarter to $14.58 million, despite low nickel prices.
