Metso to supply automation systems to Rautaruukki

Finland-based global engineering and technology company Metso Corporation has announced the receipt of an order for the supply of automation systems to Finnish steelmaker Rautaruukki for its Raahe steel plant.

The automation at the plant's blast furnace No. 1 and the conveyor systems are to be replaced by Metso's automation systems in the summer of 2010.

The order includes Metso's engineering, equipment, installation, training and start-up.

The installation of equipment at the Raahe plant will start about six months before the system start-up.

The value of the order has not been disclosed.
