Mechel, one of the leading Russian mining and metals companies, has announced the commissioning of production and service equipment at the branches of its sales subsidiary Mechel Service within the scope of its development program.

In particular, equipment for straightening and cutting-off wire reinforcing bar was launched in August at Yekaterinburg, Krasnodar, Saint Petersburg, Sochi and Chelyabinsk, allowing the companies to extend the range of services. The total production capacity of the commissioned equipment is about 1,500-2,000 mt of processed steel per month.

Meanwhile, the other regional projects currently under implementation include the reconstruction of production and warehousing facilities in Yekaterinburg and Ufa with the aim of increasing the company's regional share; the improvement of customer services; and the continuation of production range expansion.

Till the end of the current year, Mechel Service plans to complete the installation of an automatic line for welded mesh production in the Moscow region, creating a capacity of 1,200-1,500 mt per month.
