Mechel Campia Turzii receives CE certification for products

The Russian mining and steel producing group Mechel has announced that its Romania-based subsidiary Mechel Campia Turzii, which is a part of its East European Steel Division, has successfully passed the annual product certification procedure approving the plant's compliance with EU requirements, and has thus confirmed its right to use CE markings on its products.

Accordingly, at the end of February 2010 an audit inspection was carried out at Mechel Campia Turzii plant in order to check compliance of its products such as welding electrodes of D-PRINS E51 B and SUDOX E50 FAVORIT grades and metal fiber manufactured in accordance with STAS SR EN 14889-1/2007 standard to the main European Union requirements. The production process was tracked from the point of raw material input to the point of finished product transportation to the storage area and the system was recognized as conforming to EU standards.
