Mechel announces Jan-Sept financial results

One of the leading Russian mining and steel groups, Mechel, today announced its financial results for the nine-month period ending September 30, 2006. According to the company's release, during the first nine months of 2006, Mechel's revenue increased by 7.9 percent, its net operating income by 6.8 percent, net income by 18.2 percent and EBITDA by 17.5 percent year on year. The respective figures in US$ were 3.1 billion, 483 million, 372 million and 668 million. The company's EBITDA margin for the period in question was at 21.3 percent.
