Mechel acquires stake in Bulgarian power plant

Mechel, one of the leading Russian mining and metals companies, has announced the acquisition of a 49 percent stake in the Bulgarian power plant Toplofikatsia Rousse (Rousse).

This latest acquisition is in line with Mechel's plans to develop a substantive power segment within the company's diversified business and to enter new markets for its steam coal.
