SteelOrbis Shanghai Sources report that hot rolled H beam from Maanshan Steel has entered the Middle East market for the first time. The total quantity of the order in question is 3,000 mt. While retaining its market share in South East Asia, Maanshan Steel is also making efforts in the exploration of overseas markets so as to avoid trade frictions deriving from centralized export destinations. In order to re-enter the North America market, Maanshan Steel restarted production of ASTM H beam this June and July. By the end of September, more than 10,000 mt of ASTM H beam from Maanshan Steel had been exported to the US market. In the context of its export drive, the mill also accelerated its exploration of the Middle East market and finally achieved entry there for the first time. From January to September, exports of hot rolled H beam from Maanshan Steel totaled 335,000 mt, up 235,000 mt or 235 percent compared with the same period last year.
