LME expands list of approved brands for billet futures

London Metal Exchange (LME) has announced the approval of the products of Russia's Frolovsky Electrostalplavilny Zavod (Volga-Fest) and Zlatoust Metallurgical Works (ZMZ); Turkey's Diler Demir Celik Endustrisi ve Ticaret A.S. and Yazici Demir Celik Sanayi ve Turizm Ticaret A.S.; and Ukraine's Mini Steel Mill ISTIL for its steel billet futures contracts which are due for launch on April 28, 2008, following the soft launch to be realized on February 25, 2008.

As a result of these further additions, the number of product brands approved by LME has now increased to nine, following the previous approval of Greek producer Hellenic Halyvourgia S.A's two brands, as well as Belarusian steelmaker Byelorussian Steel Works (BMZ) and Turkish steel producer Colakoglu Metalurji A.S.
