LKAB given permission for test mining at Leveäniemi iron ore deposit

Swedish-based iron ore producer LKAB has announced that it has obtained permission for test mining of 600,000 mt at its Leveäniemi iron ore deposit.
 
Leveäniemi is one of three iron ore mines that LKAB plans to commission by 2015. The miner expects to increase its overall production capacity by 35 percent to 37-40 million mt of iron ore per year.
