Latrobe Specialty Steel announces price increase

Latrobe, Pennsylvania-based Latrobe Specialty Steel is raising prices an average 5 percent on all air melt grades including tool steel and high speed steel. The price increase is immediate on all new inquiries and with all new orders received beginning October 5, 2010. Raw material surcharges will remain in effect.

"This increase will help offset rising manufacturing costs as well as expand our ability to service our customers through improved capabilities within our distribution division," said Mark Weberding, Vice President of Marketing and Sales for Latrobe Specialty Steel.
