Indonesia's Krakatau Steel is to join forces with Japan-based Nippon Steel to develop and promote the application of seismic steel in building and infrastructure construction in Indonesia, according to media sources.

Fazwar Bujang, Krakatau Steel's president, said that, based on Japan's experience, using steel as the main architectural building material can improve the strength and security of buildings. Currently, the use of seismic steel in building and infrastructure construction is not so prevalent in Indonesia. Therefore, the two sides intend to promote this steel to ensure the safety of buildings in the country.
