Kobe Steel to register extraordinary loss for Q1 FY 2012-13

Japanese steelmaker Kobe Steel has announced that it will register a consolidated extraordinary loss of JPY 14.1 billion ($176.6 million) on the write-down of investment in securities for the first quarter, ended June 30, of the fiscal year 2012-13.

The company said that it will disclose its earnings forecast for the fiscal year 2012-13, ending March 31, 2013, when the forecast can be determined.
