Kazakhstan’s Association of Mining and Metallurgical Enterprises (AMME) has announced that the government has held a meeting aiming to adopt some operational measures to ensure economic growth in Kazakhstan in 2015-2016 and support the steel and mining industry.
Accordingly, the Kazakh government has decided to extend the ban on scrap exports until March 2016, as well as decreasing the tax on extraction of minerals. The government will also form a list of companies that will receive government support.
The extension of the export ban is aimed at helping ArceloMittal Termitau and KSP Steel to avoid face scrap shortage.
