Indian steelmaker JSW Steel Ltd. has disclosed that its crude steel production rose 26 percent year on year to 707,000 metric tons in the first quarter of the 2007/08 financial year.
The company's hot rolled coil production has more than doubled to 642,000 metric tons during the quarter in question thanks to phased capacity expansion during 2006/07, the company said in a statement.
