Jiuquan Steel issues output targets for its steel sheet mill in 2011

Gansu Province-based Chinese steel producer Jiuquan Iron and Steel Corporation (Jiuquan Steel) has announced the production targets of its subsidiary Jiuquan Steel Carbon Steel Sheet Mill for 2011. Accordingly, in 2011 Jiuquan Steel Carbon Steel Sheet Mill will aim to produce 3.5 million mt of crude steel, 689,000 mt of billets, 2.3 million mt of hot rolled coils and 1 million mt of cold rolled coils.

In addition, in 2011 the mill will also focus on the development of new steel products and will continue to deliver a steady supply of steel products to Chinese automaker Geely Auto Company.

In 2010, Jiuquan Steel Carbon Steel Sheet Mill is expected to produce 2.83 million mt of crude steel. Following the commissioning of its No. 1 and No. 2 galvanizing lines in June and November this year respectively, Jiuquan Steel Carbon Steel Sheet Mill now has an annual production capacity of 750,000 mt of galvanized coils.
