Jindal Steel and Power to increase steel capacity

Indian steel producer Jindal Steel and Power Ltd has recently announced that it plans to increase its annual long products capacity, which is currently 1.5 million tons, to 2.15 million tons by March 2006. The company will invest Rupees 12 billion (approx $262 million) for this project. Rupees 4.8 billion ($104.5 million) of the total investment will be funded through accrual sources. The capacity increase is planned to be materialized through establishment of coke oven plant, sinter plant, blast furnace and melting shop.
