Shandong Province-based Chinese steel producer Jinan Iron and Steel Co., Ltd (Jinan Steel) has announced that it has obtained certification from a total of ten shipping bureaus from the US, France, China, Norway, Germany, India, South Korea, UK, Japan and Italy for its shipbuilding plate products of up to 60 mm thickness.
The products in question are produced by Jinan Steel's 4,300 mm heavy plate production line, which was commissioned in 2008. The annual production capacity of the line is 1.8 million mt of thick and wide plates mainly used in shipbuilding, large boilers and pressure containers.
