Shougang Steel produces almost 30 million mt of finished steel in 2010

Beijing-based Chinese steel producer Shougang Steel Corporation has issued its preliminary steel output results for 2010. Accordingly, in 2010 Shougang Steel produced 32 million mt of pig iron, 31.7 million mt of crude steel and 29.94 million mt of finished steel. Of its finished steel production, Shougang Steel's outputs of pipeline steel, auto steel and shipbuilding plate in 2010 were respectively 1.01 million mt, 1.10 million mt and 1.04 million mt.

Shougang Steel added that in 2010 it successfully developed X120 pipeline steel - the highest-strength grade of pipeline steel.

In addition, Shougang Steel stated that in recent years it has made great progress in merger and acquisition activity, acquiring steel companies such as Shuicheng Steel, Changgang Steel, Guizhou Steel, Yili Steel and Tonghua Steel.
