Jiangsu Province-based Huaigang has announced that it has successfully developed 380 mm diameter 15CrMoG and 12Cr1MoVG steel tubes for use in high pressure boilers. All the products from the first trial operations have passed examination and are thus in accordance with customer requirements.

Widely used in the manufacturing of steam boilers and tubes of high pressure, 15CrMoG and 12Cr1MoVG are steel grades which are characterized by high alloy content, good quality and difficult production.

One of the major special steel producers in China, Huaigang now belongs to Shagang Group. In 2006, its outputs of crude steel, finished steel and pig iron were 1.61, 1.64, and 1.19 million mt respectively, with sales revenues reaching RMB 8.5 billion ($1.12 billion). The manufacturer's steel products include gears, springs, bearings, ship anchor chains steel, alloy pipe billet, and some other kinds of special steels.
