According to statistics released by Japan's Ministry of Finance, Japan's stainless flat steel exports totaled 66,952 metric tons in October this year, rising by 9.4 percent month on month and up 1.6 percent compared to October 2011.
In the first 10 months of the current year, Japan's stainless flat steel exports amounted to 649,622 metric tons, falling by 14 percent year on year.
In October this year, Japanese stainless flat steel exports to South Korea totaled 17,586 metric tons, while exports to China amounted to 10,618 metric tons, increasing by 30 percent and 13.8 percent respectively, both compared to the previous month. In October, the country's stainless flat steel exports to Taiwan amounted to 13,867 mt, up 52.7 percent on month-on-month basis.
