Japan's steel exports rose 10.7 percent year on year to 3.01 million metric tons in September 2006.

Korea rose 30.6 percent year on year to 818,909 metric tons in September, while those to
China grew 26.6 percent to 526,970 metric tons in the same month.
However,
Japan's September steel exports to
Thailand fell 2.6 percent to 324,047 metric tons, while those to
Taiwan fell 8.1 percent to 312,975 metric tons.
Japan's steel exports to the US jumped 30 percent to 159,497 metric tons.
