Japanese crude steel output declines in January

In January this year, Japanese crude steel production was up 0.3 percent compared to the previous month, while it decreased by four percent compared to January 2014, totaling 9.02 million mt, according to the data released by the Japan Iron and Steel Federation (JISF).
 
Meanwhile, in January Japan's pig iron production totaled 7.01 million metric tons, increasing by one percent compared to the previous month and falling by 2.9 percent year on year.
