According to the statistics released by the Italian steel producers' association Federacciai, in the first nine months of 2011 Italy's steel imports reached 14.065 million metric tons, increasing by 11.5 percent, while its steel exports totaled 12.863 million metric tons, up 12.9 percent, both compared to January-September 2010.
