Italian steelmaker Alfa Acciai Group has announced its financial results for 2015. In the given year, the company’s turnover decreased by 12 percent to €1.059 billion due to the overall reduction in steel prices, while its net profit reached €10 million, increasing from €806,000 in 2014.

In 2015, the local Italian market accounted for 40 percent of the company’s total sales, sales to Germany accounted for 22 percent, sales to other EU destinations accounted for 18 percent, while 20 percent of sales went to the rest of the world.

According to the company, the good profit result is mainly due to a reorganization plan activated by the company with regard to local market business activities.

Alfa Acciai Group operates Alfa Acciai, located in Brescia, one of the largest EAF-based steel mills in Italy, Acciaierie di Sicilia, the only steel mill operating in Sicily and Ferroberica, the largest company in Italy involved in the pre-shaping and laying of reinforcing steel for all kinds of structural work, for roads, railway, and maritime infrastructures, as well as public, industrial and civil buildings.
