The new Ferriere Nord plant located in Osoppo in Udine in northeastern Italy is the first rebar mill in the world able to manufacture rebar in coils weighing up to five metric tons. The mill can produce rebar of 10-32mm diameter in coils weighing 2.5 mt and 5 mt in B450, B500, B550 and S400 steel grades.

Ferriere Nord is an internationally renowned manufacturer of low-carbon long steel for the building and mechanical engineering industries. With its two plants, in Osoppo and Potenza, Ferriere Nord has two EAF-based steelworks, two mills manufacturing steel for reinforced concrete in bars and coils, a mill producing wire rod, and foundries making arc-welded meshes, drawn wires and lattice girders.
