Ispat Karmet expects new pipe plant to be completed in 2004

According to market reports Ispat Karmet of Kazakhstan, owned by LNM group, expects the construction carried out for the new pipe plant just outside of Karaganda to end by the second half of next year. This new plant will have a production capacity of 60'000 tons per year which will be consumed by domestic producers. It is also reported that the plant will cost $65 million and produce API grade spiral welded pipes with dia. ranging between 530-1.420 mm and 14 mm in thickness.
