Iscor to hike prices of flat products

With a recent statement, South African steelmaker Iscor announced that it will raise domestic prices by 7.5% for hot rolled coil and 4% for cold rolled coil from October. The company reported that it had cut prices on certain flat products by between 2% and 4% in August. This lower price will continue throughout September till the price increase comes into effect in October. An official from Iscor stated that the increase in prices is due to rise in international steel prices, driven by strong demand and continuing high input costs.
