Indian private steel producers have demanded Prime Minister's intervention to advise the Petroleum and Natural Gas Ministry against raising prices of natural gas for the steel sector. The Indian Steel Alliance (ISA) said in its letter to Prime Minister that any increase in natural gas prices will increase the burden on the customers and worsen the capacity of the industry. It is also reported that the sudden increase in natural gas prices for the steel sector will diminish productive.
