Iron ore exports from Australia’s Port Hedland up slightly in Feb

In Febuary of the current year, iron ore shipments from Australia's Port Hedland decreased by 9.9 percent compared to January and were up 1.65 percent year on year, totaling 20 million metric tons.

According to the information released by the Port Authority, in February iron ore shipments made from Port Hedland to China amounted to 15.6 million metric tons, decreasing by 14.8 percent compared to January and up 7.4 percent compared to the same month of the previous year.

Port Hedland handles production from mines owned by BHP Billiton, Atlas Iron and Fortescue Metals Group in the iron ore-rich Pilbara region of Western Australia.
