Iran’s Kermanshah Steel to build a blast furnace

"Kermanshah Steel intends to set up a blast furnace with a yearly capacity of 400,000 mt," company managing director Mehrooz Soleimani has lately revealed.

Mr. Soleimani went on to say, "The plant will be built on 100 hectares of land near the existing rolling mill and we have now obtained all necessary permissions from the government," adding that they were now ready to begin the project in the coming weeks. The new blast furnace is expected to commence production within approximately three years.

Kermanshah Steel, located near Kermanshah city in western Iran close to the Iraqi borders is a rolling mill with a capacity of 150,000 mt per year of rebar and plain round bar of 10-32 mm. The mill, which started production operations in 2004, nowadays exports a major part of its output to Iraq.
