Iran Alloy Steel’s billet output rises by 10 percent

Iranian steelmaker Iran Alloy Steel produced about 220,000 metric tons of semi-finished steel (billet) in the first nine months of the current Iranian year (started March 21), representing an increase of 10 percent compared to the same period of the last Iranian year, according to company officials. Iran Alloy Steel exported approximately 180,000 mt of its products in the period in question.

Iran Alloy Steel, which has a current annual output capacity of 250,000 mt of alloy steel, expects to increase its capacity by about 80 percent with the commissioning of its new electric arc furnace, ladle furnace and continuous casting machine in the near future.
