Iran inaugurates two pellet plants

According to the Iranian Mines and Mining Industries Development and Renovation Organization (IMIDRO), two iron ore processing plants have been inaugurated in Sangan.

The first plant has an annual pellet production capacity of 2.5 million mt and has been established with an investment of IRR 8 trillion ($221.85 million), while the second plant will produce 5 million mt of pellets per year and the investment in question amounted to IRR 11 trillion ($305 million) in a partnership between IMIDRO (40 percent) and Parsian Bank Investment company (60 percent).

IMIDRO also stated that the mines in Sangan meet 23 percent of Iranian steelmakers’ raw material demand.
