Iran builds DRI unit

According to the statement by Iran's Development and Renovation Organization of Mines and Mineral Industries, IDROMI agreed to start construction of the direct iron ore reduction project in Khorasan province. The DRI project will be actualized by the joint venture to be established by the Khorasan Steel Complex (KSC), IRTIC and IRASCO companies. KSC recorded 100% growth in the production of steel ingots and 252% growth in the production of bars this year, according to figures. Company officials stated that the company has traded 250'000 mts of its products so far this year, indicating a 32% growth.
