Initiation of sunset review on imports of PC wire strands from Japan

US International Trade Commission (ITC) has recently initiated a sunset review (five-year) of the anti-dumping finding on imports of prestressed concrete steel wire strands from Japan to determine whether revocation of the anti-dumping finding on the imports of subject merchandise is likely to lead to continuation or recurrence of material injury for US domestic steel industry. ITC and the US Department of Commerce (DOC) had previously conducted a sunset review for the imports of subject merchandise from Japan and on July 27, 1999 DOC published its determination regarding continuation of the anti-dumping duty order on the imports of aforementioned product from Japan. Now, ITC is conducting a second review in order to determine whether revocation of the order would be likely to lead to continuation or recurrence of material injury to US domestic steel industry. Interested parties are required to submit their comments on the issue by latest February 23, 2004.
