Indonesia's iron and steel import value down 14.4 percent in Jan-May

According to the data announced by Statistics Indonesia (BPS), in May this year the value of Indonesia's iron and steel imports decreased by 42.4 percent compared to May 2014, amounting to $392.2 million, while the country's import value for articles of iron and steel decreased by 1.1 percent year on year to $320.6 million.
 
In the first five months of this year, Indonesia's iron and steel import value amounted to $3.03 billion, falling 14.4 percent compared to the previous year, while the country's import value for articles of iron and steel amounted to $1.59 billion, down 8.6 percent year on year.
