Indian steelmaker Tata Steel has ordered new hot-blast stoves from Italy-based plantmaker Danieli’s subsidiary Danieli Corus as an addition to its blast furnaces H and I at Jamshedpur and blast furnace No 2 at Meramandali.

The company aims to increase operational performance, maintenance flexibility and production rates of its blast furnaces.

The abovementioned 3,230 cubic meter blast furnaces were commissioned in 2008, 2012 and 2014, respectively, with a pig iron capacity of 8,700 mt per day each.

According to Danieli, the design of stoves allows future refractory expansion and offers a long lifecycle.
