India’s NMDC Limited targets iron ore output of 50 million mt in FY 2023-24

Indian state-run miner NMDC Limited has set an iron ore production target of 50 million mt for the fiscal year 2023-24, 21 percent higher than the output achieved in the previous fiscal year of 2022-23, company sources said on Tuesday, April 25.

The miner had achieved iron ore production of 41.22 million mt in 2022-23.

The sources said that, in the slightly longer term, the target is to achieve iron ore production of 60 million mt by 2026-27.

In fourth quarter of 2022-23 (January-March), NMDC recorded production of 14.29 million mt, the highest-ever quarterly output in any year, the sources said.
