India’s Directorate General of Anti Dumping and Allied Duties (DGAD) has commenced antidumping (AD) duty investigations into imports of straight length bars and rods of alloy steel from China, an official at India’s Ministry of Commerce said on Tuesday, September 26.

The ministry official said that investigations have been launched in response to dumping complaints filed by six domestic producers of these steel products.

Based on preliminary findings, the DGAD has said that there existed prima facie evidence that the products were being dumped from China and required a detailed investigation to determine the  justification of the levy of an antidumping duty and the eventual rate of any duty, the official said.

All stakeholders, importers, producers, traders and consumers have been directed to make their written submissions to the DGAD within 40 days effective from September 22, 2017, he added.
