India opens AD investigation into stainless CR products from China, UAE, US

The Directorate General of Antidumping and Allied Duties of India published a notice on August 16 announcing the initiation of an antidumping (AD) investigation into cold rolled flat steel products of 200 series stainless steel and stainless steel below 600 mm according to ASTM grade (less than six percent nickel) imported from China, UAE and US. This is the seventh AD investigation initiated by India against Chinese imports this year.

The petitioners in the investigation are Hisar Metal Industries, Quality Foils (India) and JSL Ltd. The products in question are designated under Indian customs tariff number 72202010, 72202021, 72202022, 72202029, 72202090, 72209010, 72209021, 72209022, 72209029, 72209090. The period of investigation is from January 1, 2009 to March 31, 2010. The value of Chinese products affected by the investigation totals $77.79 million.
