India is hesitant about results of AD review on imports of HR products

The annual review on the US anti-dumping case concerning hot rolled product imports by major Indian steel mills is due in 45 days. Despite the recent ruling by the WTO against the US safeguard measures, Indian steel authorities are not very optimistic about the outcome of forthcoming review. It is not expected that the duties will be lifted, given the petitioners' feedback regarding the damage caused to the domestic industry in the United States. The anti-dumping duty was imposed as a result of surging imports of hot rolled products during the period of April 1999-March 2000 covers SAIL, Tata Steel, Essar Steel, Jindal and Ispat Industries.
